Ubuntu leadership voyage 2027
Theme; "It takes a company to develop an emplyee"
Recently, it has come to light that companies are looking to bring their employees
back to the office, among other things to strengthen team cohesion,
foster innovation, and support employee development. We draw a parallel with
the Ubuntu principle: “it takes a village to raise a child.”
We look forward to the discussions this will spark.

What a day!
Last Monday, we had an inspiring Coming Together with nearly 30 people who share a passion for leadership and Ubuntu.
Participants came from a wide range of backgrounds, including HR professionals, change managers, entrepreneurs, and CEOs from different organizations. The diversity of perspectives led to meaningful conversations and powerful insights.
Together, we explored timeless Ubuntu principles, such as:
• "It takes a village to raise a child."
• "I need you to be you, so that I can be me."
• "I am because we are, and the planet is."
The energy, openness, and willingness to learn from one another made this gathering truly special.
Together with our alumni, we brainstormed also about the 2027 Leadership Ubuntu Voyage 4 and the ideas were nothing short of inspiring.
Our shared intention is clear: to create a mind-blowing, journey that goes far beyond travel.
We want to create voyage that challenges perspectives, deepens leadership, and brings the spirit of Ubuntu to life through meaningful encounters, unforgettable experiences, and lasting
On September 21, Aafke Osse , Jan Hille Noordhof . and Paul Verhaak will host Coming Together Part 2. This event is another step on the journey towards our Leadership Ubuntu Voyage to Southern Africa, planned for January 2027.

On Friday afternoon, 14 November, we went ‘harvesting’ with a group of saplings. These young trees will be replanted somewhere in the Netherlands. Peter van Doorn made it possible for Sani Wines in Lesotho to plant another 2,500 new grapevine cuttings. These will produce new grapes in three years, allowing Sani to further meet the demand for his wine. As a token of appreciation, we as the leadership group organized a ‘sapling harvesting day’ on 14 November to help bring even more trees to the Netherlands.
Event wednesday september 17th 2025
24 participants joined us for this inspiring and memorable afternoon.
At the beautiful location hosted by Peter van Doorn, we discussed the upcoming programs for the two journeys:
"Experience Ubuntu" and "Ubuntu in Action", both scheduled for late January and early February 2026.
Details can be found on the respective travel pages.
We shared reflections and stories from previous Ubuntu journeys.
As part of the preparations for “Ubuntu in Action”, we hosted four live calls with our local partners:
Kananelo (Sani Winery)
Dr. Joseph (Roma University)
Lundy (Natal Wildlife Program)
Sekake (Trading Post Lesotho)
During these conversations, we discussed key themes and focus points. Together with our partners in Lesotho and KwaZulu-Natal, we will continue shaping the Ubuntu in Action program through co-creation.
The agenda also included a presentation and short discussion with Moh, CSR Director of a South African dairy company.
She delivered a powerful and moving talk about her Ubuntu-rooted upbringing in the north-west region of South Africa.
We ended the gathering with a delicious shared meal.
The next meeting is planned for mid-December—more information will follow soon.
