During this unique journey, you will explore what empathetic, collective, and sustainable leadership truly means through direct collaboration with African entrepreneurs, students, and communities.
What You’ll Experience
A deep leadership development experience through:
• Practical application of the Ubuntu philosophy: “I am because we are.”
• Co-creation and collaboration with local entrepreneurs, students, and leaders
• Reflection on personal leadership through an intercultural perspective
• Exploration of ecosystems, rituals, culture, and nature in Southern Africa
Program Overview
1. Lesotho: Hackathon – Ubuntu in Business (3 days)
Locations: Roma University, Sani Wines, The Trading Post
Activities:
• Collaborating with Lesotho-based entrepreneurs and students
• Working sessions focused on:
o Ubuntu as an identity and business model
o Scaling up Sani Wines (wine production)
o Empowering The Trading Post (hospitality)
o Supporting start-ups grounded in Ubuntu values
• Workshops on branding, marketing, storytelling, and pitch training
• Practical assignments such as developing a business plan or campaign
• Closing celebration and presentation of outcomes
Outcomes:
• Concrete action plans
• Deeper understanding of Ubuntu-inspired leadership
• Strengthened international connections
2. Wildlife Ranger Training (2 days)
Location: South African nature reserve
Contents:
• Training with wildlife rangers: learning to read ecosystems, signals, and interconnections
• Theory and hands-on experience (on foot and by jeep)
• Overnight stay in a tented campsite, with local cuisine and outdoor showers
Purpose:
To slow down, deepen insight, and learn from natural leadership dynamics
3. Eswatini: Experiencing the Power of Modern Africa (3 days)
Focus: Exploring how Ubuntu is practiced within an autocratic kingdom
Program:
• Visiting universities, businesses, and government institutions
• Lecture on the king’s role and cultural contrasts with Lesotho
• Meetings with young entrepreneurs, artists, and female leaders
• Rituals for reflection, gratitude, celebration, and closure
